小说中的「 Neverland 」在彼得·潘和他的小伙伴们心中是逃离成人世界的乐土。在那里，遭遇带来历险的狂喜，斗争伴随着嬉戏的无虑。但最终，孩子们仍然不约而同地回归现实，任凭纷扰将自己磨练长大。
对梦幻岛的想象揭示了我们无法拥有生活和世界的事实。儿时总是追逐冒险，沉迷于危险带来的刺激，享受化险为夷的得意。而长成之后又耗尽心机去弥合盈亏，挣扎着不在生活的湍流中倾覆，甚至自幸于短暂的成就。然而，无论我们身处何方、何种年龄，「 Neverland 」始终形影不离，它意味着挥而不去的未曾着落。从童年时的妄想到成年的担忧，我们对危险的感应从未衰退。彼得·潘的小伙伴们以最终的回归诠了「 Neverland 」无处不在。他们深处其中，如同是它的一个部分。我们永远无法预知它会带来什么，却又极度渴望。我们是世界的陌生人，同时又是自我的海盗船长，我们的生存状态或许就如同小飞侠彼得·潘那般无所着落，也从不着落。

In the novel, ‘Neverland’ is the paradise where Peter Pan and his little friends would escape from the adult world. There, the encounter brings the ecstasy of adventure, the fight comes with the lightness of play. But eventually, the children still return to reality simultaneously, hone in this disturbing life and becoming grow-ups.
The dream of ‘Neverland’ reveals the fact that we can’t actually own the life and the world. We were always chasing adventure in our childhood, indulged in the stimulation of dangers, excited about getting out of trouble safely. After grow up, we worry about our personal gains and losses, racking our brains, struggling not to overturn in the turbulence of life, even complacent about our transient achievements. However, no matter where we are, how old we are, ‘Neverland’ has always been inseparable, the feeling of never landed has been lingering. From childhood wild imagination to grow-up worries, our sensitivity to danger never fails. The ultimate return of Peter Pan’s little friends interpreted that ‘Neverland’ is everywhere. They're deep inside it, like a part of it. We will never know what it will bring us, but it is also extremely anxious. We are the strangers to this world, and also the pirate captain of our own, our being perhaps just like Peter Pan, that never landing, and never landed.
